FreshCut Crafts is a family-owned small batch paper craft manufacturer based in Maryland, and our company was born out of a desire to make a difference in kids’ crafting. We were tired of imported plastic foam, felt, glitter, pom-poms, plastic google eyes, and that gross chemical smell that wafts up to your nose when you open just about any kids’ craft item these days.
We were also tired of buying expensive cutting tools and materials that only adults could safely use. Our kids’ projects became our projects—and where’s the fun and learning in that?
So, we designed a line of paper crafts made with the most beautiful, colorful, responsibly sourced, American-made card stock we could find. Then, we pre-cut all of the materials so they would easily punch out of the sheet, which builds fine motor skills and empowers kids to work and create entirely on their own. The results were pretty magical.
We’re proud to say that we do it all in the U.S. in a near-zero-waste shop, with energy efficient equipment and minimal packaging. Our footprint is shockingly small—and we like it that way.
As for the team, I’m the captain of this paper crafting ship, and I lead the creative side of the company. My husband, Mark, works behind the scenes on manufacturing operations and technology. Our kids, Audrey (14) and Miles (13), were our original product testers, and over the years their roles have evolved into production and social media. We work with a talented group of photographers, kid-craft testers, and design professionals, too.
